Carolyn Helton Peeler
( October 26, 1939 - April 23, 2018 )
Carolyn Helton Peeler, age 78, of Lincolnton, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Gainsville Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Painter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Born October 26, 1939, in Gaston County, she was the daughter of Mack W. Helton and Georgia Hopper Helton. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert H. Peeler, three brothers, and one sister. She was a faithful member of Gainsville Baptist Church for many years. She was a member of Eastern Star, Lincoln Chapter 114, where she held many stations since 1983. Carolyn loved her family and loved camping and traveling with her beloved husband, Hubert. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by four children, Teresa Lynn of the home, Gary Lynn, and wife Cindy, of Denver, Debbie Apjohn, and husband Jeff, of Lincolnton, Tana Ables, and husband Tom, of Wilmington, Ron Peeler, and wife Amber of Huntersville; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Shirley Butler of Newton.
The family wishes to express their thanks to Catawba Hospice for the care and support given to the family.
