Ted Yates Rhodes

Ted Yates Rhodes, age 86, of Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, April 17, 2018.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018, at Warlick Funeral Home. A private service will be held at a later time.
Mr. Rhodes was born November 7, 1931, in Lincoln County, to the late Henry Yates and Wilma Ramsey Rhodes. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Harry Ramsey Rhodes. Ted served the United States Army honestly and faithfully during the Korean War. He worked in the furniture industry, was a successful entrepreneur and co-owner of Rhodes Yarn Company in Lincolnton.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Renia Goins Rhodes of the home; four daughters, Rhonda Rhodes Hoffman of Loris, SC, Teddie Sue Rhodes Stamey of Denver, Sharon Rhodes Barkley, and husband Jim, of Sherrills Ford, and Patricia “Patti” Rhodes McCollum of Boone; one sister, Jodena “Jody” Rhodes Cronland of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Brad Howard, and wife Danielle, of Lexington, SC, Elizabeth Esther of Huntsville, AL, Sarah McCollum of Boone, Joy Stamey of Denver, and Audra Hoffman of Loris, SC; four great-grandchildren, Shelby Barkley, Austin Howard, Carson Howard, and Hope McCollum; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Hope Center, 208 Howard Street, Boone, NC 28607.
