Dorothy Linton Allen
( May 22, 1927 - April 8, 2018 )
Dorothy Virginia Linton Allen flew over the rainbow on April 8, 2018. She was born May 22, 1927 and raised in Savannah, GA, the eldest child of Arthur and Leila Cook Linton.
Dot was a graduate of Armstrong College and Winston-Salem State University with a degree in History. She loved singing in the church choir and volunteering in the community. Mom made all our birthdays, Christmas, and every other holiday special and all about family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence David Allen, Sr., her parents, her brothers Gene and Bill, and an infant daughter.
Left to cherish all the memories are her children, Larry (Jennie), Susan (Jim), Nancy, and her grandsons, David (Jennifer) and Ben (Melanie).
Graveside services will be at a later date. Dot will be laid to rest “as near to her Granny Cook as possible” in Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, GA.
Thank you to all the staff at Brighton Gardens Memory Care for the love they extended to our mom.
