Ruby Bridges Cabaniss

Ruby Bridges Cabaniss, age 77, of Hephzibah Church Road in Crouse, died on Tuesday, January 30, 2018.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018, at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ken Faulkenbury officiating.
Mrs. Cabaniss was born February 20, 1940, in Cleveland County, to the late Talmage McBride and Lawlee McMurry Bridges. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Terry Newell Cabaniss; brothers, Earl Bridges and Ray Bridges; and sister, Tois Wright. She worked in textiles and, in her spare time, enjoyed the outdoors.
She is survived by a son, Terry Dale Cabaniss of Vale; a grandson, Hunter Dale Cabaniss of New York; a granddaughter, Cheyenne Lingerfelt of Vale; sisters, Lois Williams, Nice Barber, Audry Tony, and Norma Curry; and nieces, Pam Barber of Kings Mountain and Amy Tony of Shelby.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaston County Relay for Life.
