Obituaries

Drenda Diane Smith, age 53 of the Brian Center in Gastonia died Sunday, January 14, 2018.

Her funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Bethel Lutheran Church with Pastor Steven King officiating.  Burial will follow in Lander’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel Lutheran Church.

Drenda was born on March 13, 1964 and was the daughter of the late Brenda Neal Payseur.

She is survived by her father, Robert  E. Smith and wife, Mary of Conover; three step-brothers, Vaughn Payseur and wife, Staci of Lincolnton, Eugene Payseur of Lincolnton and Scott Smith and wife, Barbara of High Point; one step-sister, Nanci Smith of Conover; four aunts, Gail Cabiness and husband, Harold of Lincolnton , Judy Neal of Lincolnton, Brenda Beam and husband, Ron of Cherryville and Barbara Harmon of Lane View, VA.; one uncle, Boyd Towery, Jr. of Lincolnton and a number of nieces and nephews.
