James Barnes III
( December 15, 1986 - December 22, 2017 )

James Randolph Barnes III (Jimmy Barnes) 31, of Denver NC passed away suddenly on Friday, December 22nd at his home.

Jimmy was a member of Denver United Methodist Church and had recently been attending Pursuit Church Denver along with his wife, Amber.

Jimmy had a love and passion for the outdoors. By the time he could walk he was spending hours at his Nana and Paw Paw Barnes’ house, and on their dock, learning to fish. He was his Paw Paws fishing buddy. Jimmy would often spend time hunting and he especially loved the mountain streams where he enjoyed trout fishing with his daddy. Jimmy also loved guns, motorcycles and fast cars (especially Mustangs, thanks to Mitch).

Jimmy’s infectious smile, wit and unpredictable antics would endear him to all that knew him. If he was your friend, it was for life. Jimmy shared in many escapades and adventures over the years with friends and family alike. Growing up close to his cousins; Jordan Green, Brittany Green Agosta, TW Nickle, Chelsey Green Trulli, Alley Green, Leslie Green Schuyler, Joey Green and Jenna Green, was something he treasured. There was nothing that Jimmy would not have done for those in need. He was overly enthusiastic about his sisters. Jessica and Journey Barnes had a place in his heart that none could touch, and he would move mountains for them both. Jimmy often joked that Opie (his dog) was the greatest thing ever. Jimmy really loved life to the fullest.

His truest passion and deepest love was reserved for his wife Amber. Childhood sweethearts that would become husband and wife gave Jimmy a soul mate that would stick by him through thick and thin.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jim (Paw Paw) Green. He is survived by his wife Amber Renee Barnes; His parents, Judy and James Randolph Barnes Jr (Jamey); his paternal grandparents Judy and James Randolph Barnes Sr (Nana and Paw Paw); his maternal grandmother, Barbara Green (Maw Maw); his sisters, Jessica and Journey Barnes; his uncles, Kevin Barnes of Charlotte, Jamey Green and wife Martha of Denver and Jeff Green of Charlotte.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:45pm, Saturday December 30th. A celebration of Jimmy’s life will follow at 2:00pm at Pursuit Church Denver, 3618 N. Hwy 16. (Across from Rock Springs Elementary School) Interment will follow the service at Denver United Methodist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Pursuit Church Denver, Building Fund.
