Obituaries

Mr. Richard “Dick” Worth Mosteller, age 92, of Long Shoals Road in Lincolnton, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Peak Resources in Cherryville.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jon Mann officiating.  The family will receive friends following the graveside service.

Mr. Mosteller was born March 22, 1925 in Lincoln County, to the late Henry and Cora Inez Boyles Mosteller.  Mr. Mosteller was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during World War II.  He was retired from trucking.

Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Nellie Sue Sain Mosteller of the home; one son, Dale Mosteller and wife Beth of Lincolnton; three brothers, Miller, Benny and Jerry Mosteller all of Lincolnton; three sisters, Ibera M. Setzer of High Shoals, Mary Frances “Myrt” Kistler of Cherryville and Nancy M. Beaver of Lincolnton; one grandson,, Richard Mosteller and twin great grandsons, Carson and Colton Mosteller.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be made to Long Shoals Wesleyan Church, 3032 Long Shoals Road, Lincolnton, NC  28092.
