Obituaries

Mr. George Albert Chapman age 94 of Salem Church Road Lincolnton passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017.

Funeral services will be held 3:00pm Sunday, December 10, 2017 at the First Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Tommy Wright officiating.  Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 on Sunday prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Chapman was born on February 16, 1923, son of the late John Albert and Lou Elmore Chapman.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae Dellinger Chapman. Mr. Chapman was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II.  He was a retired machinist.

Survivors include:  one daughter Judy Chapman Short and husband Darrell of Vale; one son Michael Carl Dellinger and wife Jacquelyn of Lincolnton; five grandchildren Dana Short Rudisill and husband Chip, Audria Short Costner, Darra Short, Luke Dellinger and wife Jennifer, and Cody Dellinger; four great grandchildren Spenser Rudisill, Makayla Rudisill, Dyllion Costner, Chloe Dellinger; one great great grandchild Rylan Rudisill; and many special nieces and nephews.
