Lou Anna McCorkle Wilkinson
( September 23, 1921 - November 18, 2017 )

Mrs. Lou Anna McCorkle Wilkinson, age 96, of The Brian Center in Lincolnton and formerly of Denver, died on Saturday, November 18, 2017.

Lou Anna spent her entire life serving her Lord, her family, and her many friends.  Her home was always a place where all were welcome and nourished by her love, her faith, and her food.  She offered unconditional love, Godly wisdom and prayer, and no one was ever allowed to leave her home without “eating a bite” with her, whether it was a home cooked meal, one of her famous fried pies, or some of her one of a kind sugar cookies from the big cookie jar.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tanner Mundy   officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wilkinson was born September 23, 1921, in Lincoln County, to the late James Richard and Nancy Litten McCorkle.   In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ishmael Webb Wilkinson, one son, Ishmael “Pete” Wilkinson, Jr., four brothers, Charlie, Frank, Boyce, Johnny McCorkle, one sister, Pansy M. Box.  Mrs. Wilkinson was retired from the furniture industry.

Survivors include four daughters, Glenda W. Noles and husband Jerry of Lincolnton, Nancy Sigmon of Denver, Kay Howard and husband Eddie of Lincolnton, Karen Duckworth and husband Marty of Stanley; one son, Jim Wilkinson and wife Cathey of Denver; one daughter-in-law, Bernice I. Wilkinson of Lincolnton; She was Grandma to eleven grandchildren and Granny to sixteen great grandchildren. 

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
