Helen Reynolds Finger
( September 26, 1921 - October 23, 2017 )
Mrs. Helen Reynolds Finger, 96, of 132 Lancrest Lane, passed away on October 23, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family.

Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2017, at Boger City United Methodist Church with Rev. Ron Perry officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.  

Helen was born September 26, 1921, the daughter of the late Chesley Lee and Bertha Dellinger Reynolds.  She was one of sixteen children.  

Mrs. Finger was a lifelong member of Boger City United Methodist Church, and a member of the United Methodist Women’s group.  She was an active member of the Lincoln County Home Extension Club for many years.  She also was a Girl Scout leader for several years.  Helen worked at the Bargain Center, which was later called Transit Damaged Freight.  She worked there in her later years from 1973 until the business closed.  Helen was a homemaker first and foremost.  She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  

She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed having Sunday lunches and holiday meals at her home for all her family and friends.  

Helen was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She was devoted to her family, friends and church family.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Finger is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Kenneth Blair Finger, Sr.; her brothers, Glenn Reynolds, John A. Reynolds, Hubert Reynolds, Hugh Reynolds, Reese Reynolds, Ray Reynolds, and Paul Reynolds; her sisters, Betty Mobley, Willie Mae Little, Loretta Gates, and Mary Louise Reynolds; a son-in-law, Craig Wilmoth; and a grandson, Joshua Ledford.

She is survived by four children, Kenneth Finger, Jr. (Jane) of Lincolnton; Tom Finger (Kay) of Asheville, Karen Gregory (Grayson) of Lincolnton, and Lynn Wilmoth of Lincolnton; nine grandchildren, Molly Finger Tweed (Travis) of Lincolnton; Julie Finger Bird (Chris) of Pawley’s Island, Lori Gregory (Sharon) of Lincolnton; Jennifer Gregory Taylor (Robert) of Charlotte, Emily Gregory Norris (Jeremiah) of Maiden, Katie Finger Williams (Nate) of Asheville, Kippin Finger Jordan (Chris) of Asheville, T.J. Finger (Kirby) of Asheville, and Blair Ledford (Ashley) of Fayetteville; and fifteen great-grandchildren, Leah and Jake Tweed, Anna and Allie Bird, Amelia and Aliza Taylor, Brigham and Veyda Norris, Sinclair and Aleena Killian, Madison and Avery Jordan, and Tommy, Kennedy, and Penelope Finger.  She is also survived by a brother, George Reynolds; a sister, Naomi Huffstetler; and numerous nieces and nephews.  

Helen touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boger City United Methodist Church, 2320 E. Main Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092 or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 39105-1942.
