Shirley Conner Dellinger
( January 24, 1941 - October 7, 2017 )

Shirley Conner Dellinger, age 76, of Lincolnton died Saturday, October 7, 2017.

Her funeral will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Salem Baptist Church with Dr. Andy Royals and Rev. Dickie Spargo officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. prior to the service at Salem Baptist Church.

Mrs. Dellinger was born on January 24, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Ernest and Pearl Cunningham Conner.  She was preceded in death by her husband Gene Dellinger, two brothers, Ralph Conner and Harold Conner and one sister, Ruby Logan.  Mrs. Dellinger was owner and operator of Dellinger’s Florist in Lincolnton for 34 years. She was a faithful servant of Jesus and was an active member of Salem Baptist Church. She was actively involved with the Seniors Ministry and used her gifts of hospitality to serve others.  Her love of cooking, decorating and hosting events was her expression of Christ to others.  Time with family and friends was her life’s treasure.  She now lives in Heaven’s glory with her Savior, beloved husband Gene and all those who’ve gone before.

She is survived by three sons, Darrell Dellinger and wife, Erika of Lincolnton, Dennis Dellinger and wife, Susan of Bessemer City and Bryan Dellinger and wife, Glenda of Hershey, PA; one sister, Daphine Harris of Lincolnton; one brother, Max Conner of Newton; six grandchildren, Zachary Dellinger, Seth Dellinger, Ethan Dellinger, Rebekah Dellinger, Hannah Dellinger and Bryn Dellinger; two great-granddaughters, two great-grandsons and lifelong friend for 53 years, Cathrine “Cat” Craft .
