Charlotte Christine Hovis

Charlotte Christine “Chris” Hovis, age 85, of Lincolnton, died on Sunday, September 24, 2017.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at Boger City Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Bigham officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hovis was born June 12, 1932, in Lincoln County, to Forest and Ethel Rudisill Gilbert. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Elvin Leon “Yadie” Hovis.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Hovis, and wife Gail, and Bobby Hovis, and wife Melissa, all of Lincolnton; three sisters, Rachel G. Jones, Shirley Hawkins, and Peggy Reynolds, all of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Chad Hovis, and wife Audrey, Jeff Hovis, Aleia H. Watts, and husband Travis, and Anna Hovis; and four great-grandchildren, Caleb Hovis, Ayden Hovis, Cameron Hovis, and Georgia Grace.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boger City Baptist Church Building Fund, 2201 E. Main Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
