Vernon Austin Knuckles, Jr.

Vernon Austin Knuckles, Jr., 64, of Lincolnton, NC, passed away Monday, August 21, 2017, at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
Vernon was born December 10, 1952, in Lincoln County, to Jean Barlow King and the late Vernon Austin Knuckles, Sr.
He was a graduate of Lincolnton High School and Gardner Webb University. Vernon spent the majority of his working career in the home building supply industry. He will be remembered for his love of golf and fishing.
He is survived by his mother, Jean Barlow King of Lincolnton; son, Taylor Knuckles, and wife Leslie, of Conover; daughter, Maggie Cook, and husband Josh, of Huntersville; sister, Beth King, and husband Ron, of Lincolnton; two grandchildren, Hunter Clark and Sydni Knuckles, both of Conover; nephew, Todd Campbell, and wife Cheryl, of Gastonia; niece, Shanda Leigh Walker, and husband Lonnie, of Maiden; great-nephews, Chris, Jordan, Kenan, Ethan, Nathan and Brendan; and great-niece, Kayleigh.
The family will receive friends from 11a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Warlick Funeral Home in Lincolnton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Vernon’s name to the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Avenue, Suite 100, Charlotte, NC 28207.
