Archie Leroy McManus

Archie Leroy McManus, age 74, of Ike Lynch Road in Dallas, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hardin with Pastor Jonathan Schnibben officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. McManus was born January 21, 1943, in York County, SC, to the late Julius Lee McManus, Jr. and Alma Thatcher McManus. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, June Starnes, and a brother, Julius Lee McManus, III. He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Bennington, and then later worked as a printer.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Pasour McManus of the home; two daughters, Kelley McManus Barker, and husband Jamie, of Denver, and Terri McManus Gaddy, and husband Brandon, of Waxhaw; one brother, Michael McManus, and wife Donna, of Indian Land, SC; two sisters, Loretta Benton, and husband Wayne, of Charlotte, and Patricia Mullis of Mint Hill; and three grandchildren, Jordan Barker of Arizona, Kallie Barker of Denver, NC, and William Gaddy of Waxhaw.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Men’s Group, 531 Hardin Road, Dallas, NC 28034, or to Gaston Hospice, 258 E. Franklin Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28054.
