Anita Adkins McIntosh

Anita Adkins McIntosh, age 61, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017, surrounded by family.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, 2017, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Anita was born on September 29, 1955, in Lincolnton, NC. She was one of three children of Charles Jackson Adkins, Sr. and Sarah Monee Rash Adkins. She grew up in Lincolnton. She was employed with BB&T Bank in Charlotte for over two decades.
She is survived by her parents, Charles and Sarah Adkins of Denver, NC, as well as her children, Caleb McIntosh (Kelly Hill) and their son Holden. Wendy Norvell (Bradley) of Charlotte, and their late son, Lincoln, and Cindy Lofton (Jim) of Charlotte and their children Shepherd and Lea. As well as her sister, Sarah VanHoy Proctor (Larry) of Shelby, NC and her brother Charles Adkins, Jr. of Hollywood, FL, and her nephews Eddie VanHoy (Jennifer) and David VanHoy (Kellie) and eight great-nephews and nieces.
Anita was a graduate of Lincolnton High School, Class of 1973, and attended UNC-Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Charlie VanHoy of Shelby, grandson, Lincoln Thomas Norvell, as well as her grandparents, Fannie and Thomas Rash of Lincolnton, NC, and James and Ercella Adkins of Meadow Creek, WV.
The family asks that all memorials be directed to the Presbyterian Hospital Cancer Center, 200 Hawthorne Lane, Charlotte, NC 28204, or Colon Cancer Support Network of the Carolinas, 10020 Monroe Road, Suite 170, Matthews, NC 28105.
