Obituaries

Mrs. Martha Jane Gates Keener, age 75, of Redwood Lane, Lincolnton died Saturday, May 13, 2017.

Her funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Covenant Bible Church with Rev. Mike Devine and Rev. Nathan Grooms officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at Covenant Bible Church.

Mrs. Keener was born on December 9, 1941 to the late William G. and Loretta Reynolds Gates.   She worked in nursing as a LPN and RN.

Mrs. Keener is survived by her husband, Jerry Keener of the home; two sons, Randy Keener of Lincolnton and Rick Keener of Lincolnton; one brother, Chris Gates of Lincolnton; five sisters, Pat Thrower of Topsail Beach, Nita Turner and husband, Bobby of Lincolnton, Rita Hauss and husband, Gary of Lincolnton and Billie Moore of Lincolnton; 5 grandchildren  Joshua, Jordan, Rachel ,Nathan and Noah.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
