Johnny Leo Owens, III

Johnny Leo Owens, III, age 63, of Summerow Road in Maiden, died on Monday, April 17, 2017.
His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Long Shoals Baptist Church with Rev. Wesley Ingle and Rev. Ken Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in the Southside Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Johnny was born October 1, 1953, in Lincoln County, to Louise Chapman Pope and the late Johnny L. Owens. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a grandson, Justin T. Owens. He was self-employed as a licensed general contractor.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Finger Owens of the home; two sons, John C. Owens, and wife Christina, of Ormond Beach, FL, and Chance D. Owens, and wife Laura, of Maiden; one daughter, Brandi Henderson, and husband Jason, of Lincolnton; one sister, Montrece Chapman, and husband Melvin, of Lincolnton; his mother, Louise Pope of Lincolnton; one grandson, Brandon Owens; and a number of nieces, nephews, and family.
Memorials may be made to the Long Shoals Baptist Church Building Fund, 2988 Long Shoals Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
