Rev. Austin Tyler Farris

Rev. Austin Tyler Farris, age 20, of Dallas passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017.
His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Andy Royals and Rev. Lanny Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. on Sunday prior to the service at the church.
Austin was born October 2, 1996, in Gaston County, to Darren Ray and Selina Cook Farris. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Sherlon Cook, his paternal grandmother, Barbara Farris, his aunt, Shelley Cook and his uncle, Eric Farris. Austin was ordained to preach the gospel of the Lord. He held numerous positions in various churches, preaching and playing music.
He is survived by his parents, Darren and Selina C. Farris of the home; one brother, Seth Farris of the home; his maternal grandmother, Mary Cook of Vale and his paternal grandfather, Ray Farris of Dallas.
