Gene Tunney Ewing, Sr.
( October 2, 1927 - March 25, 2017 )
Gene Tunney Ewing Sr. age 89, of Lincolnton, died Saturday March 25, 2017.
His service will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, March 29, 2017, in the Warlick Funeral Chapel with Rev. Meg Skidmore officiating. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive from 12:45-1:45 prior to the service at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mr. Ewing was born October 2, 1927, in Lincoln County, to the late Walter and Charlie Odell Lee Ewing. Mr. Ewing, a retired truck driver at Carolina Freight, also served in The United States Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife Myra Gardner Ewing of the home; a daughter, Judy E .Huffstetler; four sons, Gene T. Ewing, Jr., Ronnie Lee Ewing, Michael Anthony Ewing , and Mark Powell Ewing, all of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Michelle Cauley Hughes, Ben A. Cauley, Stacy E. Adcock, Jeff A. Ewing, Brian W. Ewing, Amanda Ewing, Matt Ewing, Melissa Long, Eric Long, and Jacob Ewing; and fourteen great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton NC 28658.
