Obituaries

Doris Olene Smith Holbrooks, age 78, of Lincolnton, died on Saturday, January 21, 2017.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at Boger City Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Bigham officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church. 

Mrs. Holbrooks was born January 16, 1939, in Marlow, Oklahoma, to the late Hubert Anderson Smith and Lois Larimore Smith.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Gurney Holbrooks.  She worked as a seamstress.

She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Sue Holbrooks of Marlow, OK and Frances Holbrooks Duncan, and husband Lawrence, of Lincolnton three brothers, James Smith, and wife Glenda, Leon Smith and Maria, and Paul Smith, and wife Judy; four sisters, Betty Robertson, Lil Hall, Rosie Carnell, and husband Jerry, and Vi Fuller, all of Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Josh Duncan, and Stephanie, Ryan Duncan, and wife Jessica, Amanda Lineberger, and husband John, and Tabatha Johnson, and husband Jeren; and four great-grandchildren, Dylan Lineberger, Grayson Duncan, Roxanne Johnson, and Addison Carnell.
