Helen "Johnnie" Johnson Gilbert

Helen “Johnnie” Johnson Gilbert, age 87, of 3084 W. Highway 27 in Lincolnton, died at home surrounded by her family and friends, on Sunday, December 4, 2016, of complications from cancer.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barry Devine officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Gilbert was born January 16, 1929, in Catawba County, to the late Adolphus Levi and Ida Elvie Hoyle Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Hal Burton Gilbert; a son, Larry Gilbert; a daughter, Robin Burns; and her brothers and sisters. She worked in textiles and, for over 20 years, helped with Meals on Wheels in Lincoln County.
She is survived by her two grandchildren, Matthew Gilbert and John Burns; daughter-in-law, Vicky Gilbert of Lincolnton; and son-in-law, Larry Burns of Houston, TX.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
