Virginia Towery Hudson
( September 21, 1931 - November 20, 2016 )
Virginia Towery Hudson, age 85, of the Brian Center in Lincolnton, and formerly of Balsam Drive, died on Sunday, November 20, 2016.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at Hulls Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Travis Elmore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Hudson was born September 21, 1931, in Lincoln County, to the late Bryce Towery and Flossie Hull Towery Everhart. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Edison Hudson; a son, David Gerald Hudson; a sister, Gayle T. Bolick; and a grandson, Jacob Thomas Yoder. Virginia was a cafeteria worker for Lincoln County Schools.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Yoder, and husband Jack, of Lincolnton; two brothers, Harold “Sonny” Towery, and wife Karen, of Morganton and Tommy Towery, and wife Glenda, of Hickory; two grandchildren, Kristen Smith, and husband Nolan, of Granite Falls and Zachary Yoder of Raleigh; and two great-grandchildren, Olivia Smith and Reid Smith.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the Brian Center in Lincolnton for their care given to Miss Virginia.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
