Paul Ray "Cigar" Elmore

Paul Ray “Cigar” Elmore, age 83, of 3223 Spicewood Lane in Crouse, died on Thursday, August 18, 2016.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Crouse with Pastor Rick Sloop and Pastor Travis Elmore officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2016, at Warlick Funeral Home.

“Cigar” was born February 2, 1933, in Lincoln County, son of the late Claude Tillman Elmore and Macie Harrelson Elmore.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Gilbert Elmore; a brother, Jim Wayne Elmore; and a sister, Louise E. Holt.  He retired from Cochrane Furniture having dedicated over 50 years of service.  “Cigar” was a charter member of the Crouse Volunteer Fire Department until he retired.  During that time, he cooked and served many people at the Crouse community chicken suppers over the years.  

He is survived by two sons, Ken Elmore, and wife Kesha, of Crouse and Ron Elmore, and wife Cassandra, of Vale; one brother, Frank Elmore, and wife Ann, of Florida; one sister, Betty Elmore Davis, and husband Tom, of Crouse; six grandchildren, Beth Cain, and husband Randy, Pastor Travis Elmore, and wife Candace, Kassidy Elmore, Kenzie Elmore-Metts, and husband Webster, Kyle Willis, and wife Jessica, and Sara Willis Peeler, and husband Josh; and six great-grandchildren.
