Billy Joe Christopher

Billy Joe Christopher, age 79, of 193 Plum Lane in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, August 10, 2016.
His funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at Long Shoals Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Drum, Rev. Ken Gibson, and Rev. Wesley Ingle officiating. Burial will follow in the Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:15 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Christopher was born April 16, 1937, in Lincoln County, to the late Samuel Bruce and Clevie Yarbrough Christopher. He worked in sales for Bassett Furniture in Newton.
He is survived by his wife, Sally Stewart Christopher of the home; one son, Jeff Christopher of Lincolnton; one daughter, Sheila C. Hull, and husband Scott, of Lincolnton; three sisters, Beulah Carringer of Catawba, Martha Sue McNeil of Southport, NC, and Carol Brenning of Lincolnton; six grandchildren, Dwayne Christopher and wife Candace, Keith Christopher and wife Natisha, Bryant Christopher and wife August , Brandy Jacic and husband Rasim, Ben Hull and wife Meredith, and Brad Hull and wife Amber; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Long Shoals Baptist Church, 2988 Long Shoals Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
