Betty Mae Travis Byers

Betty Mae Travis Byers, age 84, of 1459 Long Shoals Road in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, August 3, 2016.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Redemption Outreach Center with Rev. Jerry Goodman officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2016, at Redemption Outreach Center.
Mrs. Byers was born July 6, 1932, in Lincoln County, to the late George and Emma Motz Travis. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Claude Byers. She worked in textiles.
She is survived by a daughter, Renee George, and husband Wayne, of Lincolnton; one son, Jimmy Byers, and wife Denise of Lincolnton; one brother, Bub Travis of Newton; one sister, Elizabeth Richard of Lincolnton; six grandchildren, Micheal and Angie George, Dennis and Beth George, Whitney Byers, Haley and Colton Shaw, Bethany Chivalier, and Bryson Chivalier; and one great-grandchild, Luke George.
Memorials may be made to Redemption Outreach Center, 700 Lithia Inn Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
