Obituaries

Mr. Harold Eugene Stroud, age 73, of Sandy Park Road in Lincolnton, died on Friday, June 17, 2016.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, with the body to lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2016, at Warlick Funeral Home.  At other times, the family will be gathered at the home.

Mr. Stroud was born September 13, 1942, in Catawba County, to the late Glayton J. and Eva Scronce Stroud.  He retired from the United States Navy after 20 years, then retired from the United States Postal Service. 

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Bertie S. Stroud of the home; two daughters, Gina Houser, and husband Steven, of Lincolnton, and Cynthia O’Toole, and husband Sean, of Mt. Holly; three brothers, Reginald Stroud of Denver, Charles Stroud of Gaffney, SC, and Timothy Stroud of Lincolnton; one sister, Gaye Caudle of Maiden; and eight grandchildren.
