Myrtle Elizabeth Reep
( August 1, 1926 - May 27, 2016 )
Mrs. Myrtle Elizabeth “Sue” Poovey Reep, age 89, of Laboratory Road, Lincolnton and formerly of Iron Station died Friday, May 27, 2016.
Her funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Riverview Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. at the church prior to the service. At Riverview, Myrtle served her Lord for many years in the children’s ministry program. She was gifted with a love for children and others.
Mrs. Reep, known affectionately by family and friends as “Sue Sue”, was born on August 1, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Robert H. and Nellie Thornburg Poovey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, E. Reese Reep, four brothers, Leroy, Grady, Leonard and Kermit Poovey and two sisters, Edna P. Self and Mayzell Cook. She retired from Pilot Furniture in Maiden where she sewed upholstery and worked many years at Burris Industries in Lincolnton.
Mrs. Reep is survived by a number of nieces and nephews who she loved as her own children.
