Richard Dan Taylor, Sr.

Richard “Dan” Taylor, Sr., age 65, of McBee Street passed away on May 22, 2016. He was born on January 23, 1951 in Lincoln County. His parents were the late Hoyle Taylor and Mary Bangle Taylor. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Hoyle Taylor.

He graduated from Lincolnton High School in 1969, and then graduated from Gordon Military College as a cadet 1st Sgt. He served in the U. S. Army as a Ranger in the Vietnam War Era. He was Safety Director and a volunteer fireman for the City of Lincolnton. Most of his career he was dedicated to serve the public as Superintendent of the Lincolnton Water Treatment Plant.
His faith in Jesus Christ was the center of his life. His focus was service to God, family and those in need.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Burris Taylor; children, Richard Dan Taylor, Jr., Micah Joseph Loving, and Rebecca Caroline Taylor Foster; grandchildren; Khloe and Abigale Taylor; daughter-n-law, Ann Taylor; son-in-law, Adam Foster; nephew, Michael Taylor and niece, Laurel Davis.

The memorial service will be on Wednesday, May 25 at 2:00 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s cemetery. Family will receive friends in the Parish Hall afterward.
