Glenn Virgil Owenby

Glenn Virgil Owenby, age 80, of 3736 Innes Lane in Maiden, died on Wednesday, May 18, 2016.
His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. J. Nelson Osborne and Rev. Dr. Zachary Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Clingman Memorial Gardens in Blacksburg, SC. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Owenby was born December 8, 1935, in Bumcombe County, NC, to the late Cecil Judson and Meda Ella May Vess Owenby. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Lois Hambright Owenby, and a son, Michael Owenby. He was a retired truck driver.
He is survived by a son, Jamie Owenby, and wife Renee, of Lincolnton; two daughters, Glenda Hill, and husband Emmett, of Kannapolis and Reita Presnell, and husband Ronnie, of Mooresville; four brothers, Garry Owenby of Charlotte, Lloyd Owenby of Fairview, NC, Herston Owenby of Asheville, and Junior Owenby of Hendersonville, NC; five sisters, Leona Barnwell of Fairview, NC, Doris Wilson of Charlotte, Shirley Davis and Joyce Bates, both of Fairview, and Jean Rollins of Asheville; ten grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
