John Homer Reeves

Mr. John Homer Reeves, age 75, of 7831 Spinnaker Bay Drive in Sherrills Ford, died on Monday, May 2, 2016.

Mr. Reeves was born December 12, 1940 in Lancaster, PA to Eviel Mills Reeves Steinwagner of Tuscaloosa, AL and the late Paul Reeves.  Mr. Reeves was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War era.  He was the owner of Transstate LLC, a water and sewer construction company that he founded in 1973 and is still successful today.

An avid hunter and outdoorsman, his life was full of adventure and travel. From hunting and fishing all over the country and Canada, he was most at peace living on Lake Norman where he lived for many years.  

Survivors include two sons, Todd Reeves and wife Alesia of Iron Station, Troy Reeves and wife Leslie of Denver; two brothers, Allen Reeves of Gulf Shores, AL and Gary Reeves of Tuscaloosa, AL; six grandchildren, and his loving companion of many years, Denyse Frenette of Gatineau, Canada and her dog Bambi.

A private service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 5216, Glenn Allen, VA 23058-5267, or to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter, HATS, 650 John Howell Memorial Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
