Albert Lee Jenkins
( March 3, 1929 - April 29, 2016 )

Mr. Jenkins, 87, died peacefully at home Friday, April 29, 2016. He was the oldest of seven children of the late Thomas Daily Jenkins and Pearl Crouse Jenkins.

Funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2016 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. John Blankenship will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Warlick Funeral Home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with graveside rites of the Lincoln Chapter of the DAV.

Albert served in the 224th Army Medical Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with two bronze stars, the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the Combat Medical Badge.

During his service, Albert perfected his abilities as an automotive mechanic, and for 16 years he worked for American Parts Systems of Charlotte. He continued his love of automobile repair in his own business, Jenkins’ Garage, working until he was almost 80 years of age.

Albert was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lee Jenkins, and a son-in-law, Donald Holland.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lucille Luckey Jenkins; children, Tony Jenkins, Rick Jenkins (Minnie), Faye Holland, Delonda Badgley (George), Billy McKenzie (Becki), Carol McKenzie, Jerry McKenzie (Harriet), 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Howard Jenkins, Willie Brooks, Lynn Jenkins (Mary Lou), Hazeline Goins, Irene Fortenberry, Thomas “Butch” Jenkins (Bobbie), and daughter-in-law, Emmie Jenkins.
