Robert "Buster" Anthony Hallman, Sr.

Mr. Robert “Buster” Anthony Hallman, Sr., age 89, of 2388 River Road in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, April 26, 2016.

His funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Salem Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Keck, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:15 a.m. prior to the service at the church.  The family will gather at the home of Mr. Hallman at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2016.

Mr. Hallman was born September 18, 1926, in Lincoln County, to the late James Levy and Lucy Hoover Hallman. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Eurey Hallman; a son, Robert A. Hallman, Jr.; brothers, Jim Hallman and Hal Hallman; and sisters, Margaret Rudisill and Helen Rudisill. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, and then retired from the United States Postal Service.

He is survived by a son, Richard Hallman, and wife Linda, of Claremont; daughter-in-law, Freda Stamey of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Robert A. “Tony” Hallman, III, and wife Diane of Lincolnton, Amy Gragg, and husband Rodney, of Lincolnton, Lee Hallman, and wife Amanda, of Huntersville, and Keith Hallman of Raleigh; great-grandchildren, Robbie Hallman, Lawson Gragg, Barrett and Parker Gragg, and Lillian Hallman; and long-time companion, Betty Goodson.
