Evelyn Gertrude Shuffler Leaf

Mrs. Evelyn Gertrude Shuffler Leaf, age 90 of Carillon Assisted Living in Lincolnton died on Friday, April 15, 2016.
No services are planned at this time. Inurnment will take place in the Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
Mrs. Leaf was born on October 16, 1925 to the late Lonie Lee and Sadie Smyre Shuffler. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Eli Leaf, one brother, Lee Turner Shuffler, two sisters, Isabelle Carol Setzer and Jeannie Bell Shuffler and one nephew.
We lost an amazing woman who has been so much a part of history. She worked for the United States Government for 38 years and she had lived and travelled all over the world. Evelyn is now on her final and most exciting journey.
Survivors include three brothers, Jack Ruffus Shuffler, Billie Grey Shuffler and Lonie Perry Shuffler all of Morganton; one sister, Annie Marie Crytz of Morganton and twelve nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association, 4600 Park Road, Suite 250, Charlotte, NC 28209 or to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
