Julia Bell Talbert Abernathy
( January 9, 1926 - March 31, 2016 )
Julia Bell Talbert Abernathy, age 90, of Furnace Road in Iron Station, died on Thursday, March 31, 2016.

Her funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, April 4, 2016, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eric Reece officiating. Burial will follow in the Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mrs. Abernathy was born January 9, 1926, in Catawba County, to the late Alvin Grier and Hilda Bell Brotherton Talbert. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby King Abernathy. Mrs. Abernathy retired from JP Stevens.

She is survived by two sons, Charles “Ray” Abernathy and wife Juanita, and Bobby Gene Abernathy and wife Johnny Ann, of Iron Station; two daughters, Amy Hilburn and husband Steve and Julia “Patsy” Smith and husband Tim,  of Denver; three sisters, Mary Wheeler, Shirley Ward, and Rosie Culp; nine grandchildren, Craig Abernathy, Carrie Huff, Tina Sours, Georgie Lerner, Penny Whitener, Clay Abernathy, Brandi Hartzoge, Courtney Hilburn, and Austin Hilburn; seventeen great-grandchildren, Alex Huff, Jesse Sours, Cole Sours, Kyle Sours, Chelby Abernathy, Nicholas Whitener, Miranda Cobb, Jon Whitener, Hunter, Riley, and Preston Abernathy, Madison Smith, Caroline Blalock, Collin, Julia, Garrett, and William Lerner; and two great-great-grandchildren, Tucker Sours and Bradley Whitener.
