Ruth Reep Huss
( May 1, 1928 - January 30, 2016 )
Mrs. Huss, age 87, passed away January 30, 2016, in Lincolnton, NC.

The funeral service to celebrate Mrs. Huss’ life will be conducted at Bethphage Lutheran Church on Tuesday, February 2, at 3 PM by Pastor Fred Mitschke officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 1 from 4 until 7PM in the Family Life Center at Bethphage.

Mrs. Huss was born May 1, 1928, in Lincoln County, to the late T.B. and Lilar T. Reep. Sisters preceding her in death were Lilian Reep, Alena Reep, Sarah Huss, and Jennie Wilfong, and brothers Lloyd, Thomas, Silas, Paul, Pinkney, John Clarence, Ervin, William, and Fred Reep.

She is survived by her husband of 71years, Harry Huss; a daughter, Wanda Lutz, and husband Charles, of Lincolnton; a son, Dr. H. Fenwick Huss of Atlanta and New York; two grandchildren, Krista Lutz of Cary, and Bryan Lutz, and wife Jenn, of Lincolnton; and four great-grandchildren, Elyssa Harris, Wyatt Harris, Joseph Lutz, and Olivia Lutz.

Mrs. Huss not only operated a retail store, but cared for her mother for many years. Active in the church throughout her life, she was known for her generous ways and contagious smile. Her Christian faith was evident in all she did. Her faithful support of Harry’s Rotary activities allowed her to become a Paul Harris Fellow. Contributions to the Paul Harris Fellow are used to eradicate polio around the world.

Special appreciation is extended to her caregivers, Tilly Willis and Marcella Gingles. The family also appreciates the care given by Lincoln County EMS and Lincoln-CMC.
