Shirley Jean Abernethy

Shirley Jean Abernethy, age 68, of the Heath House in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, December 30, 2015.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2016, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug McClain and Rev. Kevin Costner officiating. Burial will follow in the Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Shirley was born August 31, 1947, in Lincoln County, to the late Henry M. Abernethy, Sr. and Beulah Morris Abernethy. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Hartness. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sisters, Phyllis Friday and husband Lamar, of High Sholas, and Frances McConnell, and husband Ronnie, of Vale; one brother, Bill Abernethy, and wife Inez, of Lincolnton; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of High Shoals, 600 N. Lincoln Street, High Shoals, NC 28077.
