Mr. Andrew Jackson “A.J.” Lemmond, Jr. age 90, of Lincolnton, died on Saturday, December 12, 2015.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Asbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Spencer officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 pm on Tuesday prior to the service at Asbury United Methodist Church.

Mr. Lemmond was born October 1, 1925, in Lincoln County to the late Andrew Jackson Lemmonds, Sr. and Mary Jane “Mollie” Helms.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Edith Ewing Lemmond.  Mr. Lemmond was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II.  He was a dairy farmer.

Survivors include two sisters, Ruby Lemmond McCaslin of Maiden and Ruth Lemmond Rash of Lincolnton and many loving nieces and nephews.
