Steve Ernest Lemmond
( October 12, 1920 - December 11, 2015 )
Steve Ernest Lemmond, age 95, of Carillon Assisted Living in Lincolnton, died on Friday, December 11, 2015.

His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, 2015, at Asbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Lemmond was born October 12, 1920, in Lincoln County, to the late Andrew Jackson Lemmond, Sr. and Mollie Helms Lemmond. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Grace Michael Lemmond, and then later his second wife, Joyce Bandy Saunders Lemmond. He served in the United States Army during World War II having participated in The Battle of the Bulge, and then later was the owner of Boger City Daycare.

He is survived by a daughter, Pam Lemmond Burris and husband David of Holden Beach, NC; a stepson, Darryl Saunders of Iron Station; two stepdaughters, Wanda Saunders Ballard of Lincolnton, and Sharon Saunders Smith of Denver; a brother, A.J. Lemmond, Jr. of Lincolnton; two sisters, Ruth L. Rash of Lincolnton, and Ruby L. McCaslin of Maiden; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
