Obituaries

Rev. Roy Wayne Sides, age 72, of 1148 Reepsville Road in Lincolnton died Friday, November 6, 2015.

Rev. Sides was born March 17, 1943 in Kannapolis, NC. He was the son of the late Charles Luther Sides and Mary Elizabeth Brigman Sides. Rev. Sides retired as a United Methodist Church pastor after over 30 years in the ministry.

A memorial service will be held 4:00p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at McKendree United Methodist Church. Rev. Gregg Plott will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.

Survivors include; two sons, Dewey Sides and wife Regina of Horse Shoe, NC and Timothy Paul Sides of Mt. Airy, NC; three daughters, Michelle Doll of Winston-Salem, NC, Elizabeth Ann Sides of Anchorage, Alaska, and Lynda Sides of Lincolnton, NC; and several grandchildren.
