Luther Ogden Yarbrough, Jr.

Luther Ogden Yarbrough, Jr., age 89, of the Brian Center in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, September 20, 2015.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at River View Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Brown officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
Mr. Yarbrough was born June 23, 1926, in Lincoln County, to the late Luther Ogden Yarbrough, Sr. and Cora Hoffman Yarbrough. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Willis Yarbrough. He worked as a truck driver for Times Oil Company where he retired after 40 years.
He is survived by two sons, Herbert Yarbrough of Charlotte and Joe Yarbrough and wife Beth of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Troy Williams of Denver, Ashley Oliphant and husband Chris of Denver, Melissa James and husband Stephen of Raleigh, and Jonathan Yarbrough of Charlotte; and one great-grandchild, Miller Oliphant of Denver.
