Doris Ann Thompson Hughes

Mrs. Doris Ann Thompson Hughes, age 71, of 2848 Long Shoals Road in Lincolnton, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2015, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Brittain and Rev. Phillip Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hughes was born September 12, 1943, in Cleveland County, to the late Cone and Mamie Houser Thompson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Alan Swink and a great granddaughter, Allyson Ray Smith. She was retired from textiles.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Bill Hughes, Sr. of the home; three daughters, Helen Mingus of Lincolnton, Peggy Hicks and husband Ricky of South Mountain, Tina Smith and husband Deanie of Vale; three sons, Ralph Swink of Vale, Michael Swink of Lincolnton, Billy Hughes, Jr. and wife Misty of Lincolnton; stepchildren, Nancy and Norman Flynn, Tommy and Kim Hughes, Donna Hughes and Wanda and Chris Clark all of Lincolnton; 35 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren.
