Rachael Ann Reese
( August 4, 1995 - July 29, 2015 )
Rachael Ann Reese, age 19, of 6913 Wateredge Drive in Sherrills Ford, died on Wednesday, July 29, 2015.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2015, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Curtis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
Rachael was born August 4, 1995 in Columbus, Ohio. She earned the Girl Scout Gold Award and served as a life guard and swim instructor at three YMCA’s. As well as being a world traveler, she participated in Outward Bound, was a scuba diver and a member of PDRA. Rachael attended the Lenoir-Rhyne Scholars Academy and was a graduate of Bandys High School where she was a member of the Bandys High School Band playing tenor saxophone. Attending Heidelberg University, she was a member of Sigma Tau Delta, Alpha Phi Omega, Alpha Lambda Delta, the Honors Program, the Euglossian Society, the Berg Events Council and active in the Heidelberg Campus Ministry. In the Fall of 2014, she was named to the Heidelberg University Dean’s list. Rachael was a longtime and active member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her parents, Kari and Andy Reese; a brother, Paul Reese; grandparents, Jim and Shay Reese of Atlanta and Delbert and Karen Orr of Alliance, OH; aunts and uncles, Laurie and Ruben Uribe of Milton, GA, Alice and Mike Noll of Howard, OH, Doug and Jeanette Orr of Galloway, OH; numerous great-aunts and uncles; cousins, Reese and Terra Uribe of Milton, GA., Kristin Bilyeu of Mt. Vernon, OH, Erica Noll of Columbus, OH, Brittany Palmer of Pickerington, OH and Zack Orr of San Diego, CA; and her entire church family.
Memorials may be made to the Rachael Reese Scholarship Fund, c/o Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 4136 Mt. Pleasant Road, Sherrills Ford, NC 28673.
