Leonard Floyd Campbell
( September 3, 1948 - June 21, 2015 )
Mr. Leonard Floyd Campbell, age 66, of 525 21st Street, SW in Hickory, and formerly of Maiden, died on Sunday, June 21, 2015.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2015, at St. Matthews United Church of Christ under the arbor with Rev. John Barnette officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the church.
Mr. Campbell was born September 3, 1948, in Lincoln County, to the late Ray and Eva Dellinger Campbell. A guitarist for several local bands in his early years (The Jay-Dee’s and The 7 Motions), he continued this passion throughout his entire life.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie R. Campbell of the home; a brother, Richard Campbell and wife Martia of Lawndale; a son, Todd Campbell and wife Cheryl of Gastonia; a daughter, Shanda Walker and husband Lonnie of Maiden; a stepson, Bryan Keith Lowman of Hickory; and seven grandchildren, Chris Campbell, Jordan Campbell, Kenan Campbell, Ethan Campbell, Brendan Campbell, Nathan Sims, and Kayleigh Sims.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Matthews United Church of Christ, PO Box 739, Maiden, NC 28650.
