Inez Aderholdt Carpenter
( May 26, 1924 - June 20,2015 )
Inez Aderholdt Carpenter, born May 26, 1924, passed away June 20, 2015, at the age of 91. She was under Hospice care at CMC Lincoln and a resident of Brian Center, Lincolnton, NC. Preceding her in death was her husband, Cecil Carpenter, her brother, Everette Aderholt, and her sister, Nell Potts. Her parents were Arthur and Lola Aderholdt. Surviving are her sisters, Ruth Eurey of Lincolnton and Jean Sherrill of Vass, NC; cousins, Edward Friday of Dallas, NC and John Aderholdt of Kernersville, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Inez’s life was one of service to God and to others. As a faithful member of Rhyne Heights UMC, Mrs. Carpenter served on various committees and in teaching positions, including the Young Adult Sunday School that she taught for 17 years. During her early years she worked at Carolina Freight and as an accountant in the textile industry. Later, Inez pursued her dream and received her degree in education. For 27 years she taught school and served as librarian at Asbury Elementary in the Lincoln County School System. Additionally, Inez volunteered for the Red Cross and at the Lincoln County Hospital as a receptionist for 20 years. When her friends needed someone to listen or say a prayer, Inez was there. Truly, Inez was a woman of great courage and strong faith in her Lord.
The funeral for Inez Carpenter will be held Tuesday, June 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Rhyne Heights United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery.
