William Gaither Lanier

William Gaither Lanier, age 74, of 4128 McIntyre Avenue in Charlotte, died on Tuesday, June 16, 2015.
His funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2015, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Benton and Rev. Roy Lanier officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 11:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Lanier was born December 12, 1940, in Lincoln County, to the late Jessie James and Lettie Irene Denton Lanier. He worked in maintenance for Southern Manufacturing.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Ervin Lanier of Georgia; two daughters, Bridgette McBryde of Charlotte and Sharon Lanier of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Heather Matthews, Kevin Lail, Kimberly McBryde, and Ashley McBryde; two great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Matthews and Halle Matthews; a brother, Roy Lanier of Lincolnton; and two sisters, Fay Hefner of Shelby and Barbara Sisk of Crouse.
