Kenneth "Ken" Wayne Hovis

Mr. Kenneth “Ken” Wayne Hovis, age 72, of 615 Victor Street in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, June 7, 2015.
His funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will greet friends for an informal reception beginning at 2:00 until 3:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Ken was born January 23, 1943, in Lincoln County, to the late Namon E. and Cleta Setzer Hovis. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Darrell E. Hovis. He worked as a real estate broker, and previously in the furniture industry.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Weaver Acree Hovis of the home; two daughters, Pam Hovis Pearson and husband Robert of Lincolnton, and Heather Acree Jones and husband Scott of Roswell, GA; two sons, Lewis Acree of Shelby, and Roone Acree and wife Amanda of Tulsa, OK; one sister, Gail H. Calloway of Lincolnton; sister-in-law, Priscilla Hovis; and seven grandchildren, Abbey Parker, Gabriel Jones, Caleb Jones, Sarah Cate Parker, Annie Jones, Joshua Acree, and Kaley Pearson.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 201 Robin Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
