Robert Lee Grant
( September 19, 1928 - February 27, 2015 )
Mr. Robert Lee Grant, age 86, of Shuford Road in Lincolnton, died on Friday, February 27, 2015.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2015, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral Home.

Mr. Grant was born September 19, 1928, in Lincoln county, to the late John and Vista Mae Grant. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Dora Gladys Grant, a son, Nelson E. Grant, three brothers Jessie Grant, Lewis Grant, and Loyd Grant, and two sisters Helen Grant Shrum and Louise Grant Brooks.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster for injuries he sustained during combat. He was also awarded a Presidential Citation by the President of South Korea for his service. He was honorably discharged from the Army after the war. He worked for Dorsey’s, Inc. in Charlotte for 27 years until his retirement. He spent his retirement years hunting, fishing, and gardening, and devoted the rest of his time to his family.

He is survived by a son, Larry Grant and wife Linda of Mt. Holly; daughter-in-law, Bobbie Grant of Lincolnton; sister-in-law, Lib Elmore; four grandchildren, Ginger Grant Barnette, Caroline Grant, Mark Boston and wife Kellie, and Donna Boston; and five great-grandchildren, Amber Lynn Davis, Marlee Grace Boston, Bailey Cheyenne Davis, Jakob Syler Boston, and Ally Hope Boston.
