Jimmie Max Anderson
( September 2, 1925 - January 2, 2015 )

Major (Ret.) Jimmie Max Anderson, age 79 of Lincolnton died on Friday, January 2, 2015.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 231 Hershel Lackey Road in Lincolnton, with Max Dobbs officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

Jimmie was born September 25, 1935 in Altus, OK to the late Arthur Oscar “Cy” Anderson and Ona Ilene Anderson Keese.  He graduated from Odessa High School in Odessa, TX in 1954, and received a bachelor’s degree in  business from the University of Nebraska.   He retired after 21 years of service from the United States Army having served two tours in Vietnam.  He received two Bronze Stars.  After retirement he worked in real estate.  Mr. Anderson loved to travel and loved his grandkids and great-grandkids.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janiece Johnson Anderson of the home; two sons, Dr. Jimmie “Andy” Anderson and wife Dr. Luanne of Salisbury, Jeffrey Keith Anderson of Lincolnton; one daughter, Julie Jarvis and husband Jim of Weatherford, TX; three brothers, James Anderson and wife Ella of Arlington, TX, Kenneth Anderson and wife Anne of Odessa, TX, Joe Anderson and wife Cleta of Midlothian, TX; one sister, Mitzi Dobbs of Graham, TX; five grandchildren, Breanna Elliott of Ft. Worth, TX, Janiece Anderson of Iron Station, Spencer Jarvis and Jake Jarvis of Weatherford, TX, Juliana Anderson of Salisbury; four great-grandchildren, Jace, Max, Rylee and Brice, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Thanks also to Claudia Stewart, his loving caregiver and the caring nurses of the 3rd floor at CHS-Lincoln.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Donita Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
