Ruby Jean Smith McNeely

Ruby Jean Smith McNeely, age 94, of 1540 Brookgreen Drive in Myrtle Beach, SC, died on Saturday, December 6, 2014.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at Hollybrook Cemetery, with Rev. David Duncan officiating.
Ruby was born July 6, 1920, in Gaston county, to the late Fred Elmore and Julia Ethel Abernathy Smith. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, William Luther “Bill” McNeely, a daughter Shirley Jean Avery, and eight brothers and sisters.
She is survived by two grandsons, Darrell Avery, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC and Jeff Avery of Charlotte; son-in-law Darrell Avery, Sr. of Charlotte; and two great-grandchildren, Isaiah Avery of Myrtle Beach, SC and Kagelyn Avery of Charlotte.
Memorials may be made to Pisgah United Methodist Church, 2582 Gastonia Highway, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
