James Wesley Kinley, Sr.
( January 6, 1943 - November 18, 2014 )

James Wesley Kinley, Sr., 71 DOB January 6, 1943.  A resident at Port Charlotte Rehabilitation Center for 9 years. He was called up to Heaven on Tuesday, evening around 6:00 P.M.  He fought long and hard for 9 ½ years, he never gave up he wanted to live, Unfortunately, he died from a long term complication from lung disease/pneumonia at the Bayfront  Health Hospital in Port Charlotte, Florida.

James was born in Lincolnton, N.C. He was the only child of Beson Joseph Kinley and Mae Beatrice Norman.  He graduated from Lincolnton High School, his first job was at the local movie theater and from that point movies was his favorite past time.  He met Alice Faye Canipe a beautiful red head at a church picnic and fell in love, got married and have 5 children.  Their daughter Stephanie died of crib death at the age of 6 months.  They divorced, but remained close friends and spent family holidays together.  James worked in management and sales where his friendly people skills developed.  He was the nicest, friendliest, the most trustworthy person you would ever meet.  He never complained he had great work ethics never missed a day of work and was always on time never late.

He moved to Florida in 1998 and worked at his son in laws business U Build It Aluminum.  He was an expert at making screens and running and managing the aluminum hardware store.  While at the Port Charlotte Rehab Center he was the President of the Residents.  He loved going out to eat once a month, participating in activities, hanging out either in the courtyard or by the front window to greet all who passed by and playing bingo.

The things that he loved most were Faith, Family, Food and Movies.  He attended church and always lived by the Ten Commandments.  James enjoyed his watching and hearing about the lives of his children, grandchildren and great-grandson.  He loved watching football, baseball, basketball and golf.  He wore many ball caps of his favorite teams and watched sports every Sunday.  Food was enjoyable some of his favorite foods were Chicken Cacciatore, Steak, bacon cheeseburgers, red velvet cake and honey buns.   

James was survived by his four children, James W. Kinley, Jr. 49 from Clover, S.C., Amie F. Graziano, 48, from Fort Myers, FL, Joseph D. Kinley, 45 from Worthington, MN,  and Eric N. Kinley 43 from Worthington, MN.  He had 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.

There will be visitation at 10:00 A.M., service at 11:00 A.M. and graveside to follow on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Warlick Funeral Home located at 125 Dave Warlick Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092, telephone (704)735-2521.  And a memorial service will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014, at 10:00 A.M. at Port Charlotte Rehabilitation Center located at 25325 Rampart Blvd., Port Charlotte, FL  33983, tel. 941-629-7466.

Our family wants to thank all of the doctors, nurses, and staff at Port Charlotte Rehab. Center who was a second family to him.  Also, Bayfront Health Hospital, Fawcett Hospital, Sarasota Memorial and Complex Care at Ridgelake in Sarosota, who made his life longer we appreciated having him here on earth as long as possible.  Flowers or a donation can be made to The American Lung Association at www.lung.org/donate.
